It was a different story in the second half. Reece James pulled one back for Chelsea in the 49th minute, changing the score to 2-1.

Joao Pedro then levelled the score in the 66th minute, assisted by Robert Sanchez. Both sides shared the spoils after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Newcastle 2-0 Chelsea

Newcastle thumped 10-man Chelsea 2-0 in another Premier League thriller at St James’ Park on 11 May 2025.

Sandro Tonali put the home side in front in the 2nd minute, assisted by Jacob Murphy. Nicolas Jackson, who has transferred to Bayern Munich, then received a red card in the 35th minute.

With one man down, Chelsea defended wave after wave of attacks from Newcastle. The Magpies finally scored their second goal in the 90th minute.

Bruno Guimaraes, with the assistance of Dan Burn, made it 2-0 in the final minute of the match.

Chelsea edged Newcastle 3-2 in another thrilling Premier League match at Stamford Bridge on 11 March 2024. Cole Palmer scored and assisted in the thriller.

Nicolas Jackson put the hosts in the lead in the 6th minute, assisted by Palmer. However, Alexander Isak equalised for the visitors in the 43rd minute, assisted by Bruno Guimaraes.

Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead in the 57th minute, assisted by Enzo Fernandez. Mykhailo Mudryk then extended Chelsea’s lead to 3-1 in the 76th minute with the assistance of Conor Gallagher.

It was a little too late for a comeback when Jacob Murphy made it 3-2 in the 90th minute, assisted by Lewis Miley. Chelsea won the match 3-2.
