Manchester United edged Chelsea 2-1 in a dramatic Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Saturday, 20 September 2025.
It rained red cards and goals in the rainy first 45 minutes of the thriller. Chelsea saw red in the first five minutes of the clash when Robert Sanchez was sent off after a horrendous tackle.
Manchester United 2-1 Chelsea: Who Scored?
Ruben Amorim’s side used their one-man advantage to perfection, scoring two goals in the 14th and 37th minutes of the encounter played on a soaking wet field.
Bruno Fernandes scored the Red Devils’ first goal, and Casemiro headed in United’s second after a headed pass from Harry Maguire.
The match took another twist when Casemiro received his second yellow card just before halftime. The referee then handed him a red card for his dangerous sliding tackle on Estêvão.
The rain subsided in the second half, but the pitch remained slippery until the end of the game. Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back for Enzo Maresca’s side in the 80th minute with a powerful header from inside the box.
The Club World Cup champions failed to make a comeback at the end. The game ended 2-1 in favour of Manchester United, who earned a much-needed three points. The win also took the pressure off troubled Amorim following a series of poor results.

Unfortunately for the English giants, Bayern demolished them 3-1. Harry Kane netted twice for Bayern. The Englishman scored from the spot in the 27th minute and netted his second goal in the 63rd minute.
Trevoh Chalobah put Bayern in the lead when he scored an unfortunate own goal in the 20th minute. Cole Palmer scored Chelsea’s only goal in the 29th minute.
In their last Premier League encounter on 13 September 2025, Chelsea played a 2-2 draw with Brentford. Cole Palmer and Moisés Caicedo scored for Chelsea in the 61st and 85th minutes. Kevin Schade and Fabio Carvalho netted for the home side in the 35th and 90+3 minutes of the match.
