PSG 1-2 Bayern: Luis Díaz scores twice, gets red card in thrilling UEFA Champions League match

Luis Díaz scored twice for Bayern Munich, leading them to a 2-1 victory over PSG despite receiving a red card. Bayern tops the Champions League table.

Luis Díaz scored two goals when 10-man Bayern Munich beat PSG 2-1 on matchday four of the UEFA Champions League at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.

It took only four minutes for Díaz to open the scoring in the thrilling clash in France. Diaz doubled Bayern’s score in the 32nd minute, giving his side a 2-0 lead.

Díaz got sent off in the 45+7 minute for a career-threatening challenge on Achraf Hakimi. The referee, Maurizio Mariani, initially showed Diaz a yellow card, but gave him a red card after a VAR review.

Hakimi got substituted because of the injury. Ousmane Dembélé had also been substituted earlier because of an injury.

Substitute João Neves reduced the deficit in the 74th minute, changing the score to 2-1. Neves also came close to scoring in the 81st minute, but his header narrowly missed the target.

Manuel Neuer could not do anything as the header left him rooted in the middle of the goal post.

Bayern recorded their 16th consecutive win in all competitions for the 2025/26 season. Vincent Kompany’s side tops the UEFA Champions League table with 12 points after four matches.

PSG occupies the third spot in the 36-team table. They’ve won three and lost only one match.

Loic Bade gifted Bayern the third goal when he unfortunately scored in his own net while trying to defend in the 43rd minute.

In their last encounter on 5 July 2025, PSG thumped Bayern 2-0 in a FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final. Desire Doue opened the scoring in the 78th minute.

When Bayern went all out looking for an equaliser in stoppage time, Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé put the game beyond their reach when he doubled the score in the 90+6 minute.

In another clash on 26 November 2024, Bayern edged 10-man PSG 1-0 in a UEFA Champions League match. Kim Min-Jae scored the only goal of the game in the 38th minute.

Dembélé was shown a red card in the dramatic clash after receiving his second yellow card in the 57th minute.
