West Ham 3-1 Newcastle: Tomáš Souček, Lucas Paquetá goals help Hammers secure 2nd Premier League win

West Ham defeated Newcastle 3-1, with goals from Souček and Paquetá, achieving their second Premier League victory and moving closer to escaping relegation.

Tomáš Souček and Lucas Paquetá’s goals helped West Ham secure their second victory in the Premier League on Sunday, 2 November 2025.

In a spirited performance, the Hammers came from behind to defeat Newcastle 3-1 at London Stadium in Round 10 of the 2025/26 season.

Souček, who came on in the 61st minute, scored in the 90+7 minute, ensuring that his side secured vital and maximum points in the game. Paquetá scored a stunner in the 35th minute, levelling the score to 1-1.

Newcastle opened the scoring via Jacob Murphy’s goal in the 4th minute. Sven Botman gifted West Ham the second goal when he unluckily put the ball in his own net while trying to defend in the 45+5 minute.

The Hammers showed hunger in the clash as they’re trying to escape the relegation zone. They were given a penalty in the 11th minute, but the referee overturned his decision after a VAR review.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s charges also had a goal disallowed in the 68th minute after a VAR review found that there was an offside before the goal went in.

West Ham, who are third from the bottom, moved to seven points after securing their second win of the season. They’ve lost seven and drawn one match. Newcastle occupies the 13th spot with 12 points after ten games.

Nick Woltemade doubled the score in the 50th minute, ensuring that Newcastle advanced to the next stage of the tournament.
