In the first minute of the second half, Hugo Ekitike doubled Liverpool’s lead with the assistance of Gakpo. Bruno Guimaraes pulled one back for the hosts in the 57th minute, assisted by Valentino Livramento.

Newcastle fans went into a frenzy when William Osula made it 2-2 in the 88th minute. However, Liverpool snatched all three points when Ngumoha scored the winner in the 90+10 minute.

Liverpool 1-2 Newcastle

Newcastle edged Liverpool 2-1 in a thrilling EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 16 March 2025. The Magpies were crowned the champions of the tournament after their hard-fought victory.

Isak then assisted Anthony Gordon in scoring Newcastle’s second goal in the 62nd minute. Six minutes later, Salah made it 2-2 with the assistance of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold, who has transferred to Real Madrid, also assisted Salah in scoring Liverpool’s third goal in the 83rd minute. However, Fabian Schar broke Liverpool’s hearts when he made it 3-3 in the 90 minutes with the assistance of Guimaraes.

Liverpool 4-2 Newcastle

Liverpool thrashed Newcastle 4-2 in a thrilling Premier League showdown at Anfield on 1 January 2024. Despite missing a penalty and having a goal disallowed, Liverpool went on to comfortably win the thriller.

Luis Diaz thought he had put the hosts in the lead in the 18th minute, but the referee ruled out his goal for offside after a VAR review. Four minutes later, Mohamed Salah blew a massive opportunity when he failed to convert from the spot.
