Federico Chiesa has been left out of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League squad. The Premier League champions announced their team for the league phase of the European competition on their official website on Wednesday, 3 September.
The 22-man list includes names of new signings such as Hugo Ekitike, Florian Witz, Alexander Isak, and 17-year-old sensation Rio Ngumoha. Liverpool kick off their Champions League campaign on 17 September against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

Chiesa netted in the 88th minute when Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4-2 in their season opener on 15 August. The football community shared mixed reactions to the news on X.

How Many Goals Has Federico Chiesa Scored For Liverpool?
In the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, Federico Chiesa made six appearances for Liverpool and didn’t score any goals. He scored one goal out of three appearances in the EFL Cup. The forward also made three appearances in the Champions League without scoring.
Liverpool completed the transfer of Chiesa from Juventus in August 2024. The deal was worth £12.5m. In the 2023/24 Serie A season, Chiesa banged in nine goals for Juventus. He played 33 matches, providing two assists for his team.
