Barcelona scorer Ferran Torres

Ferran Torres scored in his third successive match against Atlético Madrid. Barcelona defeated Atleti 3-1 in the top-of-the-table clash at the Camp Nou on Tuesday.

Off the bench, Torres put the game beyond Atlético Madrid’s reach when he scored the third goal in the 90+6 minute. Ferran finished off a great team move, assisted by Alejandro Balde.

Alex Baena, assisted by Nahuel Molina, had opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a marvelous strike from inside the penalty area.

However, Raphinha responded for Barcelona, equalising in the 26th minute. Pedri assisted Raphinha when he levelled the score.

Ten minutes later, Robert Lewandowski failed to put Barça in front when he missed from the spot in the 36th minute. His penalty went over the crossbar, a perfect goal in rugby.

Dani Olmo then put Barcelona ahead with a fantastic strike in the 65th minute, making it 2-1.

Just when Atleti went in search of an equaliser in the dying stages of the match, Hansi Flick’s charges found gaps in their defence.

That’s when Torres gave the Barcelona faithful, who couldn’t wait for the match to end, something to celebrate.
