Phil Foden scored a brace when Manchester City edged Leeds 3-2 in a Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Foden scored the winner in the 90+1 minute after a spirited performance from the visitors. His late goal secured maximum points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Foden had opened the scoring in the first minute, giving Man City a dream start. Josko Gvardiol then doubled their lead in the 25th minute, ensuring his side was cruising 2-0 into the halftime break.
Leeds turned the match upside down in the second half. Second-half substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin had an immediate impact, pulling one back for Leeds in the 49th minute.
Lukas Nmecha, who missed a penalty in the 68th minute, then equalised for the visitors from a rebound in the 68th minute.
Foden’s two goals helped Guardiola’s side, who are on 25 points, climb to the second spot in the Premier League standings. City are four points behind leaders, Arsenal, who also have a game in hand.

Leeds are ranked third from the bottom of the 20-team table following their defeat against City. They have 11 points from 13 matches.
