Spain 5-0 Saudi Arabia

Spain demolished Saudi Arabia 5-0 in a riveting international friendly at Pasarón on 7 September 2012.

The star-studded Spanish side, which had won the FIFA World Cup in 2010, outclassed Saudi Arabia in every department in the match. The Spaniards were solid at the back and attacked as a unit.

Santi Cazorla opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Four minutes later, Pedro doubled the hosts’ score. Barcelona legend Xavi then extended Spain’s score to 3-0 in the 46th minute.

David Villa then added the fourth goal in the 62nd minute. He converted from the spot kick. With his second goal of the showdown, Pedro changed the score to 5-0 in the 72nd minute.

Spain 3-2 Saudi Arabia

Spain edged Saudi Arabia 3-2 in another international friendly at Tivoli Neu on 29 May 2010, a few days before the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Osama Hawsawi stunned the crowd when he put the Green Falcons ahead in the 17th minute. However, the hosts continued attacking until David Villa equalised in the 31st minute.

Former Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso then put Spain ahead in the 59th minute. The visitors silenced the home fans again in the 74th minute, with Mohammed Al-Sahlawi levelling the score.

Fernando Llorente then gave the Spaniards something to smile about when he scored a late winner in the 90+2 minute.

Saudi Arabia 0-1 Spain

Spain edged Saudi Arabia 1-0 in a highly competitive 2026 FIFA World Cup clash at Fritz-Walter Stadion on 23 June 2006.

Saudi Arabia took four corner kicks in the narrow defeat, while Spain, with 14 shots on target, took a whopping 10 corner kicks.

Key Players in the Spanish Squad

Lamine Yamal and Pedri are, without any doubt, the key players in the Spain squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite his young age, Yamal is one of the most feared right-wingers in the world. He can dribble past any defender, is clinical in front of goal, and provides valuable assists for his teammates.

During the 2025/26 season, Yamal scored 24 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Barcelona in 49 matches. The matches include La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Pedri is one of the most intelligent midfielders in the world at the moment. He makes things happen in the middle of the park for Barcelona and the Spain national team.

Pedri controls the tempo of the game, helps out in defence, sprays passes from the left to the right of the field, and creates goal-scoring opportunities.
