Miguel Almiron opened the scoring in the 17th minute, assisted by Alexander Isak. Dan Burn then doubled the hosts’ score in the 39th minute with the assistance of Bruno Guimaraes.
Sean Longstaff extended Newcastle’s lead to 3-0 in the 50th minute, assisted by Kieran Trippier. Lucas Hernandez pulled one back for the Parisians in the 56th minute, assisted by Warren Zaire-Emery.
Fabian Schar put the game beyond PSG’s reach when he scored the home side’s fourth goal in the 90+1 minute, assisted by Jacob Murphy.
Newcastle’s defence stood firm on the night, not allowing Kylian Mbappé to create space for accurate shots at goal.
