Trevoh Chalobah’s goal helped 10-man Chelsea secure a vital point against Arsenal in a top-of-the-table clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Chalobah opened the scoring for the Blues in the 48th minute, despite being a player down. Chalobah headed from close range after Reece James located him with an inch-perfect corner kick.
Mikel Merino responded for Arsenal, equalising in the 59th minute. Merino headed in from close range after connecting with Bukayo Saka’s accurate cross.
Chelsea played the whole of the second half disadvantaged by a first-half red card. Enzo Maresca’s side soaked up the pressure and threatened the Arsenal goal with pacey counter-attacks.
Following a VAR review, Moises Caicedo received a red card in the 38th minute following an ugly challenge on his opponent.
Caicedo was initially shown a yellow card, but Anthony Taylor had a change of heart after watching the incident again.

Chelsea are on 24 points after sharing the spoils with the Gunners in the London derby. Arsenal extended their lead at the top after securing a point in the clash.
