Monaco thought they had scored the lead in the 14th minute, but the referee disallowed their goal for offside after a VAR review. Four minutes later, Goncalo Ramos opened the scoring in the clash.
Takumi Minamino responded for the Monégasques, equalising in the 22nd minute. Kylian Mbappé, who has transferred to Real Madrid, restored PSG’s lead when he converted from the spot in the 39th minute.
Ousmane Dembélé extended his side’s lead in the 70th minute, and Vitinha made it 4-1 two minutes later. Folarin Balogun pulled a goal back for Monaco, making it 4-2 in the 75th minute.
Randal Kolo Muani put the game beyond Monaco’s reach when he netted the fifth goal in the 90+6 minute. The match ended 5-2.
