The former Barcelona star was ruthless against Malta on 10 June 2025. Memphis Depay scored two goals and also assisted in their 8-0 victory against Malta.

The Netherlands hammered Finland 2-0 in the opening fixture of their World Cup Qualification campaign on 7 June 2025.
