Tshepang Moremi scored the winner when Orlando Pirates knocked Richards Bay out of the Carling Knockout at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 8 November 2025.
The Buccaneers advanced to the final after beating Richards Bay 1-0 in the semi-final at the sold-out stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Oswin Appollis’ defence-splitting long pass from his own half set up Moremi towards the end of the first half.
The in-form winger had an excellent first touch and showed composure inside the box before beating the keeper with a world-class finish in the 42nd minute.

Abdeslam Ouaddou’s charges had five efforts on target in the first half, while their opponents had zero. Ouaddou’s side decided to defend their lead in the second half as they sat back, hoping to catch Richards Bay with a counter-attack.
The Sea Robbers were the better side on the day, taking eight shots on target and winning five corners. Their opponents only managed one corner and one shot on target, thanks to Orlando Pirates’ solid defence.
In the Carling Knockout final, Orlando Pirates will meet the winner of the match between Golden Arrows and Marumo Gallants.
