Orlando Pirates brushed aside TS Galaxy 2-0 in a Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 30 September 2025. The Buccanneers moved up the league table after their impressive victory.
Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa scored for Abdeslan Ouaddou’s side, securing three crucial points. Pirates, who have played seven league matches, now have 15 points and occupy the third spot in the league table.

They’ve won five and lost two out of their seven games. Pirates is just six points behind league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played three games more than Pirates.
Orlando Pirates were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute after a foul on Masindi Nemtajela inside the box. Evidence Makgopa put the hosts in the lead when he converted from the spot in the 20th minute.
Ouaddou’s men scored their second goal late in stoppage time. Tshegofatso Mabasa, who replaced Makgopa in the 61st minute, scored in the 90+4 minute, making sure that Bucs secured maximum points from their home game.
Pirates were the better side on the night, scoring twice from six shots on target. The South African football giants played attacking football, taking a total of 14 shots at TS Galaxy’s goal.
Adnan Beganovic’s side only managed six shots the entire 90 minutes, and tested Pirates’ goalie Sipho Chaine only three times.

Relebogile Mofokeng put the Betway Premiership game beyond TS Galaxy in the 72nd minute when he scored the second goal. The visitors went away with maximum points on the night.
