Everton had two shots on target in the whole 90, but world-renowned shot stopper Emiliano Martinez made two superb saves to deny Michael Keane and Jack Grealish.
Both teams walked away with a point after the 0-0 draw. Aston Villa now has two points from four games, while Everton has taken their tally to seven.
