In one of the day’s highest-scoring matches, JäPS trounced Töölön Taisto 9-1 in Round 4 of the Suomen Cup at Kallion tekonurmi in Helsinki on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
Held annually, the Suomen Cup is a professional competition in Finland. The Finnish soccer tournament has been taking place since 1955.
JäPS Becomes One of the High-Scoring Teams in Round 4
JäPS, who compete in Ykkösliga – the second-highest level of Finnish soccer, scored a whopping nine goals against relegation-threatened Töölön Taisto after conceding early in the match.
Töölön Taisto ranks 12th in the Southern, Group 2 of Kolmonen. Kolmonen is the fifth level of the Finnish football league system.
JäPS scored four goals and conceded one in the first 45 minutes of the match and added five more without conceding in the second half. The match produced five goals in each half.
The Goalscorers in the Töölön Taisto vs JäPS Encounter
Mavin Viisainen put Töölön Taisto ahead in the 6th minute, giving his side false hope. Impton Soderlund responded for JäPS in the 9th minute. His goal from the penalty spot levelled the score to 1-1.
A minute later, Olli Valto scored JäPS’ second goal. Oscar Dahlfors then netted the third and fourth goals in the 24th and 37th minutes, changing the score to 4-1 going into halftime.
In just the second minute of the second half, Salomon Maliki made it 5-1. Valto, with his second in the game, then scored the sixth goal in the 56th minute. Gabriel Taskos also registered his name on the scoresheet, scoring JäPS’ seventh goal in the 67th minute.
To add insult to injury, the referee sent off Töölön Taisto’s Luukas Liikanen in the 67th minute. JäPS took advantage of the situation and added two more goals.
Soderlund netted his second goal of the match in the 72nd minute, making it 8-1. Henrik Ölander then scored the ninth and final goal of the thriller in the 88th minute, changing the score to 9-1.

JäPS has an impressive goal-scoring record in the Suomen Cup. On 6 May 2025, JäPS demolished Kiffen 6-0 in Round 4 of the competition.
The Ykkösliga side scored twice in the first half and added four more goals in the second half of the showdown. Hugo Hahl scored a hat-trick in the encounter, scoring twice in the first half and netting once in the second half.
Off the bench, Herkko Kuosa scored a brace in the encounter. He scored the fourth and the last goal in the 88th minute. Mosawer Ahadi netted the other goal in the 70th minute.
