The Ajax stats in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season are not good at all. The Eredivisie club has conceded lots of goals in the three matches they’ve played so far in the league phase of the competition.
John Heitinga’s team is blunt in front of goal and has one of the worst defences in the top European tournament. Ajax has scored only one goal in three matches. Their only goal was not from open play, but from the penalty spot.
The Netherlands football giants, ranked at the bottom of a 36-team table, have unbelievably conceded 11 goals in three games. Ajax has good defenders and talented attacking players, including Raúl Moro and Mika Godts, but they’ve just not been able to compete with other elite European clubs.

Chelsea Thrashes Ajax 5-1
On matchday three of the UEFA Champions League on 22 October 2025, Ajax lost 5-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The visitors were reduced to 10 players in the 17th minute when Kenneth Taylor received a red card for a bad challenge.
Ajax didn’t create many goal-scoring opportunities in the game. Heitinga’s players only had one shot on target and zero corners. Chelsea enjoyed 66% of ball possession, had 10 efforts on target, and created 11 corners.
Ajax’s only goal of the encounter came from Wout Weghorst, who converted from the spot. Remko Pasveer made five crucial saves, saving Ajax from further humiliation in England.
Marseille Defeats Ajax 4-0
Ajax travelled to France on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League on 30 September 2025. Marseille hammered the legendary Netherlands club 4-0 at Stade Vélodrome.
Heitinga’s men had two shots on target while their opponents had six. Out of the six Marseille efforts, Ajax’s goalie Vítězslav Jaroš only managed to save two.
At least they created some goal-scoring opportunities in this match, winning seven corners and enjoying a 53% of ball possession. Ajax’s defence did not do enough to protect their goalkeeper and prevent Marseille from finding spaces in dangerous areas.

Inter Thumps Ajax 2-0
Ajax hosted Inter at Johan Cruijff Arena on matchday one of the Champions League on 17 September 2025. The hosts lost the match 2-0 in front of their faithful.
Despite a 55% ball possession, Ajax only had two efforts on target. The visitors were able to unlock their opponents’ defence whenever they had the ball. Out of Inter’s five shots on target, two found the back of the net.
Inter also had five corners in the match, proving that they were the more adventurous side on the night. The Eredivisie side only won three corners in their own backyard. Once again, Ajax failed to create enough chances to score in the clash, and their defence was also shaky.
