Jean-Philippe Mateta scores three goals in thrilling Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth draw

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a hat-trick as Crystal Palace drew 3-3 with Bournemouth, overcoming a 2-0 deficit, while Eli Junior Kroupi netted twice for Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a hat-trick in a thrilling Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Selhurst Park on Saturday, 18 October 2025.

The humdinger of a match produced a whopping six goals. The Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth fixture ended in a 3-3 draw. Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi also scored a brace in the encounter.

Bournemouth were cruising 2-0 going into the halftime break after Kroupi’s goals in the 7th and 38th minutes. However, Mateta, who also plays for the French national team, turned the tables in the second half.

The in-form striker pulled one back for his side in the 64th minute. The star also found the back of the net in the 69th minute, making it 2-2. Ryan Christie thought he had won it for Bournemouth when he scored in the 89th minute, making the score 3-2.

The Eagles won a penalty in stoppage time when Bafode Diakite pulled his opponent’s jersey inside the box. Mateta converted from the spot in the 90+7 minute, ensuring that his side secured a crucial point in the match.

The eighth-placed Crystal Palace now has 13 points after eight matches. They’ve won three, drawn four, and only lost once. Bournemouth occupies the fourth spot on the Premier League table with 15 points. They’ve won four, drawn three, and lost just one match.

In their previous Premier League match on 5 October 2025, Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Everton. They lost the game 2-1.
