Dortmund edged Wolfsburg 1-0 in matchday four of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season on Sunday, 21 September 2025. Niko Kovač’s side remains unbeaten in the league.
Following their victory, Dortmund are now second in the league table, just two points behind leaders and reigning champions Bayern Munich. Bayern have 12 points from four matches, while Dortmund have 10.

Dortmund 1-0 Wolfsburg: Who Scored?
Karim Adeyemi scored Dortmund’s only goal of the match in the 20th minute. His powerful strike from distance left Polish goalkeeper Kamil Grabara shaking his head.
Grabara dusted himself off after Adeyemi’s goal and made some good saves to keep his side in the contest. He made one of those saves in the 44th minute when Maximilian Beier took a shot from inside the box.
Paul Simonis’ side came close in the 59th minute when Konstantinos Koulierakis’ header in the six-yard area crashed against the bar. Dortmund had four shots on target but only scored one goal.
Wolfsburg didn’t create many goal-scoring opportunities in the tie, producing only one shot on target. It was Wolfsburg’s first defeat this season. In the four matches they’ve played, Wolfsburg has won one, drawn two, and lost only to Dortmund.

Before this match, Borussia Dortmund were involved in an entertaining UEFA Champions League showdown on 16 September 2025. Dortmund played a 4-4 draw with Juventus in Turin, Italy, in their Champions League opener.

Serhou Guirassy scored the first goal in the 33rd minute. Maximilian Beier made it 2-0 in the first half’s injury time.
How Did Wolfsburg Perform in Their Last Two Bundesliga Matches?
