Flávio Silva scored the winning goal as Kaizer Chiefs’ dream start to the 2025/26 Betway Premiership continues. Amakhosi beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 30 August.

Silva netted his first goal of the season exactly ten minutes after he was introduced in the place of Ashley Du Preez. It was a dream debut for the new signing, who came on in the 59th minute of the match.

Out of excitement, Silva took off his shirt while celebrating his first goal for his new club, which earned him his first yellow card in Chiefs’ colours.

Who Assisted Flavio Silva When He Scored Kaizer Chiefs’ Winning Goal?

Nasreddine Nabi introduced three substitutes in the 59th minute of the thrilling encounter. Nabi’s tactical changes were spot on as two of his replacements worked together, leading up to the only goal of the encounter. Gastón Sirino was credited with the assist following Flávio Silva’s goal.

Following their victory, Kaizer Chiefs moved to 13 points and are second in the Betway Premiership. Nabi’s side has now won four games. Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 2-0 in their season opener, beat Polokwane 1-0, won 1-0 against Richards Bay, and added their fourth win when they beat Arrows 1-0.

Kaizer Chiefs Play Goalless Draw With Mamelodi Sundowns

Kaizer Motaung’s club drew 0-0 against arch rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, 27 August. The goalless match was a disappointing result for South African football lovers who packed the FNB Stadium.

Nabi led from Chiefs’ bench for the first time during the Sundowns match. A family emergency kept him away from attending his side’s first three games of the new campaign. Chiefs’ next league match is on 16 September. They’ll face league leaders Sekhukhune.
