Zlatan Ibrahimović was honoured with the 2025 UEFA President’s Award at the UEFA Champions League draw ceremony in Monaco on Thursday, 28 August.
UEFA president, Aleksander Čeferin, described the former AC Milan striker as a remarkable human being when he handed him the award. Čeferin further said he’s “very proud” that Ibrahimović is this year’s recipient.
Čeferin praised the former Swedish international for continuing to reach out to those in need.

Zlatan Ibrahimović said the recognition by UEFA is a big honour, adding that he’s grateful. The former striker, known for his acrobatic goals, added:
“I was lucky to play with big players and big clubs. It made me the person I am today.”

How Many Years Did Zlatan Ibrahimović Play Professional Soccer?
According to his Instagram post, Ibrahimović played top-flight football for over 16 years. From 2001 to 2016, he played for top European clubs including Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, and PSG. The superstar bagged 13 championships in his football career.
Ibrahimović scored over 570 career goals, according to reports. The competitive forward achieved this unbelievable tally in 987 career games, including matches he played for the Swedish national team.

Speaking live at the draw in Monaco, he said some of the goals he would always remember were against legendary former Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and the spectacular goal he netted against England.
On 14 November 2012, Ibrahimović scored four goals when England played against Sweden in an international friendly. One of those goals was an unbelievable bicycle kick. Sweden won the match 4-2.
