Néiser Villarreal has a bright future ahead of him. The 20-year-old forward was one of Colombia’s top performers at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

Villarreal, who is in the books of Millonarios, scored crucial goals that took Colombia to the semifinals of the prestigious tournament. He did not feature in Colombia’s semifinal against Argentina because of suspension.

Villarreal was yellow-carded against South Africa, and he received another yellow card against Spain. Unfortunately, Argentina knocked his teammates out of the competition, crushing their dream of lifting the World Cup trophy. Colombia lost 1-0 on 16 October 2025.

Néiser Villarreal Scores 3 Goals in the Quarterfinal

Néiser Villarreal played a vital role when Colombia eliminated Spain, who were the favourites, in the quarterfinals at Estadio Fiscal de Talca on 11 October 2025. The star scored three goals in the historic 3-2 victory.

Villarreal opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Spain equalised in the 56th minute and scored the lead in the 59th minute. Villarreal made it 2-2 in the 64th minute. The star broke Spain’s hearts when he scored a late winner in the 89th minute.

Néiser Villarreal Scores Brace Against South Africa

In the Round of 16, Néiser Villarreal showed South Africa the exit door at Estadio Fiscal de Talca on 8 October 2025. With the score at 1-1, Villarreal netted the lead in the 63rd minute, making the score 2-1.

South Africa’s youngsters went all out looking for an equaliser, but Villarreal took the game out of reach for them when he scored Colombia’s third goal in the 90+6 minute. Colombia won 3-1.

Néiser Villarreal is a clinical finisher and is a proven natural goal scorer. He also scored eight goals, which was more goals than any other U20 player at the 2025 South American U20 Championship in Venezuela. Colombia finished in third place, thanks to Villarreal’s goals.
