Fisnik Asllani scored the only goal in the Sweden vs Kosovo match at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg on Monday, 13 October 2025.
Kosovo stunned the star-studded Sweden national team 1-0 in their own backyard in a crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifier. The likes of Alexander Isak, Anthony Elanga, and Viktor Gyökeres hung their heads in shame after the referee blew the final whistle.
Asllani, who plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, found the back of the net in the 32nd minute after Kosovo defended waves of attacks from the home side.

After the goal, Sweden continued attacking, but Kosovo’s goalkeeper Arijanet Muric made four crucial saves.
Sweden vs Kosovo: Arijanet Muric Saves Alexander Isak’s Header in Stoppage Time
Muric pulled a great save in stoppage time to deny Sweden a late equaliser. Isak connected with Elanga’s cross from the left and sent a bullet header towards goal, but Muric was equal to the task, ensuring that Kosovo went back home with maximum points from their away match.
In the first half, Gyökeres went down in the box after Isak found him with a defence-splitting first touch. Gyökeres’ penalty appeal was turned down by the referee when he thought Muric fouled him inside the box.
Kosovars kept their hopes of participating in the upcoming World Cup alive. They now have seven points after four games. They occupy the second spot in Group B. Sweden is at the bottom of the group with no wins and just one point from four matches.

Coming into the match, Sweden was the favourite to win, but a spirited performance by Kosovo saw them overcome the star-studded Swedish squad.
