Barcelona staged yet another impressive comeback under Hansi Flick. The Blaugrana won 3-2 against Levante on matchday two of the 2025/26 La Liga season.
Levante, who were 2-0 up at half-time, conceded two quick goals in the second half. Barcelona levelled the score in the first 10 minutes of the half. Levante lost the game through an own goal in the dying minutes of the match.
Barça midfielder Pedri made it 2-1 with a scorcher from the edge of the box, and Ferran Torres gave Levante’s goalkeeper no chance when he unleashed a powerful shot from inside the box.
Hansi Flick introduced fresh legs early in the second half. Marcus Rashford, who started his first game of the season, made way for Dani Olmo, and Gavi replaced Marc Casado.
After the substitutions, the defending champions took the game to the hosts. Under pressure, Levante’s defence showed cracks and Barcelona made it 2-2, stunning their opposition and the home supporters.
The newly promoted side conceded a late own goal and lost the game 3-2. While attempting to head the ball away in stoppage time, Unai Udondo put it in his own net.
Levante Stun Barcelona
Levante stunned Barcelona in the first half of their first home game of the 2025/26 season. The home side scored through the foot of Ivan Romero in the 16th minute and went 2-0 up just before the halftime whistle.
José Luis Morales netted the host’s second goal via a penalty. He gave the visitor’s goalie, Joan Garcia, no chance. Barcelona forward Ferran Torres missed a great chance inside the box when his side was still 1-0 behind. He could have levelled the score, but his shot rattled the crossbar.

The Blaugrana demolished Mallorca 3-0 in their new campaign opener at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on 16 August. Hansi Flick’s men, who are favourites to win on matchday two, were on cruise control on the day as two Mallorca players were red-carded for foul play. Despite the comfortable victory, Flick criticised his players for not being at their best during the match.
Barcelona superstars Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and fan favourite Lamine Yamal added their names on the scoreboard in Mallorca. Raphinha scored the opening goal a few minutes after kick-off, and Torres made it two for Barça in the first half.
Yamal, 18, scored his first goal of the new campaign four minutes after 90. The superstar also assisted Raphinha when the Brazilian scored the opening goal. Barcelona players are looking to put on a show when they face the newly-promoted Levante.
Levante lost 2-1 to hosts, Alaves, in their first game. Julián Calero’s side looks forward to making their home supporters proud since their promotion to La Liga. It is their first home match of the season. Jeremy Toljan scored in Levante’s first defeat of the season.
