Istanbulspor AS defeated Adana Demirspor 8-1 in a dominant TFF 1. Lig match, showcasing impressive performances from multiple players and solidifying their mid-table position.

Istanbulspor AS trounced Adana Demirspor 8-1 in a thrilling match in Turkey’s TFF 1. Lig at Necmi Kadioglu Stadyumu on Friday, 1 May 2026. The thriller was one of the highest-scoring matches of the day.

The hosts made their intentions clear in the early stages of the showdown, scoring four goals before the half-hour mark. It was clear from the start that Istanbulspor were too strong for Adana Demirspor.

Highest-Scoring Players in the Clash

Omer Faruk Duymaz, Ozcan Sahan, and Alieu Cham each scored twice in the thriller after Dijlan Aydin put the hosts ahead in the 8th minute.

Duymaz netted in the 15th and 80th minutes. Sahan scored in the 21st and 65th minutes, while Cham found the back of the net in the 28th and 47th minutes.

Demeaco Duhaney scored the other goal for Istanbulspor in the 73rd minute. Ahmet Bolat also registered his name on the scoresheet, scoring Adana Demirspor’s consolation goal in the 41st minute, assisted by Gokdeniz Tunc.

Yusuf Ozer provided three assists for Istanbuspor, while Duhaney and Cham each registered one assist. The nine-goal thriller saw five goals in the first half and four in the second.

Off the bench, Adana Demirspor’s Ahmet Yilmaz spent only four minutes in the match as the referee sent him off in the 78th minute for breaking the rules of the game.

After the dominant victory, Istanbulspor now ranks 10th in the league standings after 38 matches, while Adana Demirspor ranks rock bottom of the 20-team league.

Last High-Scoring Match Between Istanbulspor AS and Adana Demirspor

In their previous league encounter, Istanbulspor AS thrashed Adana Demirspor 5-1 at Yeni Adana Stadyumu on 29 December 2025.

Adana’s Salih Kavrazli gave the hosts false hope, putting them ahead in the 29th minute. Mustafa Sol scored a brace and provided one assist for Istanbulspor, while Florian Loshaj, Emir Gultekin, and Fahri Kerem Ay scored one goal each for the visitors.

Including goals from the 8-1 victory, Istanbulspor scored a whopping 13 goals against Adana Demirspor this season, while conceding only two.
